Service
After being drafted in 1968, Gerald Frost joined the Army. But he was not drafted simply to build up our army, no he was drafted to be put into immediate action in the Vietnam War. There he specialized in light weaponry and served with the 9th Infantry Division as a Corporal. He served for roughly six months before tragically passing in action. He suffered many fatal wounds from pieces of shrapnel that were sent airborne from a probable explosion of some sort. He passed away in the Dinh Tuong province of South Vietnam on June 8th, 1968.
For Gerald's service he was given many awards as well as having his named inscribed on the Vietnam Veteran's War Memorial in Washington D.C. Some of his awards include: the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, and the Good Conduct Medal.
